Video Vault for a Video Editor (12 Years of work in one place)
I am putting together a whole “Watch” page that is now active at the top of the website with all the videos I can find that I have edited… and want to show
It is a long and hard road to build a portfolio and when you have enough, what parts do you share with your possible future clients or employers? Why not have a website with the genres that they can click on and watch themselves? This is what I am doing.
A good Editor can edit anything. This causes a lot of clients from different genres to contact you. You don’t have enough time in a day to get video portfolios together for EVERY scenario, but you can put all your footage on a website and offer it up in an organized manner for anyone to look through on their own time. Save and Editor (me) sanity and gives clients a wonderful 24/7 “shop” to see what I offer.
Anyway, this is the reason for that page. I will be uploading about 60 videos this week to that part of my site. Enjoy.
Staying Close to Friends
As I take a look back at the twelve years of video and film editing I have done, none of the projects stand out. The people do. When friends get together to make something special, to air it on television, to distribute it for the world to see, it’s the people involved that make it worth all the hard work . Period. It’s all about who you know and what you can do together.
I am hosting a Tuesday night group at 7 p.m. (PST) that helps to foster great relationships. My hope is to get to know all new people, find out their passions, help each other when we need and just grow together, in God.
If you want to check it out and start forming great friendships for life, in Hollywood, go to www.indiecross.com, click on “Life Group” and see what it is all about. It is just nice to know others are going through the same things.
Blessings,
Layne
